Queens Park Rangers look destined to miss out on automatic promotion, their cause not helped with a 3-0 reverse against Sheffield United at Hillsborough. The Rangers cause wasn't helped when Dunne was semt off in the 33rd minute, which led to the opening goal from Maguire (35th min), who struck from the penalty spot. Further goals from Best (51st mins) and Buxton (71st min) sealed the win for the Owls. Sheffield Wednesday 14th, Queens Park Rangers 4th.

Wigan Athletic had to settle for a point against a battling Yeovil Town side at the DW Stadium as the Glovers came back to snatch a point. Powell had given the Latics the lead in the 56th minute only to see Miller turn the game on its' head with a quick fire brace in the 82nd and 85th minutes. The Latics responded with two of their own in the 86th and 88th minutes when McArthur and an own goal from Webster looked to have swung the game back towards the home side. Ayling popped up with a last gasp equaliser for the Glovers in the 95th minute to give the Somerset side hope that they can still beat the drop. Wigan Athletic 5th, Yeovil Town 23rd.

Finally in this midweek review, Charlton Athletic recorded a vital win to lift them out of the relegation places against mid-table AFC Bournemouth at The Valley. A last gasp winner from Dervite in the 92nd minute sealed a massive win for the Addicks. Charlton Athletic 21st, AFC Bournemouth 15th.
