Leicester City maintained their 8-point lead at the top of the table as they recorded a 3-0 win over League strugglers Charlton Athletic at the King Power Stadium. Goals from Vardy (9th min), Drinkwater (48th min) and Nugent (64th min) sealed the win over the FA Cup Quarter Finalists. Leicester City 1st, Charlton Athletic 22nd.

If Derby County had ambitions of automatic promotion, then they were dealt a blow by Burnley at Turf Moor as the Lancashire side ran out 2-0 winners. Jones (29th min) and marney (68th min) bagged the goals to generate a 4-point cushion on the chasing pack in the play-off places. Burnley 2nd, Derby County 3rd.

Queens Park Rangers seem to have a mountain to climb if they want to claim automatic promotion after a 1-1 draw against Leeds United at Loftus Road. McCormack gave United the lead in the 14th minute, only to see Jenas level just before the break. Queens Park Rangers 4th, Leeds United 12th.

Nottingham Forest were stunned at The City Ground by play-off hopefuls Wigan Athletic as the Latics romped to a comfortable 4-1 win over their hosts. Waghorn gave the visitors the lead in the 36th minute, with Paterson levelling 9 minutes after the break. Two quick goals from Boyce (66th min) and McArthur (71st min) established a 2-goal cushion for the Latics, leaving Gomez to wrap up the points with a 91st minute strike, plus a place in the play-offs for the first time this season. Nottingham Forest 5th, Wigan Athletic 6th.

While Wigan are heading upwards, Reading on the other hand seem to be slipping. Their play-off cause wasn't helped with the arrival of lowly Yeovil Town who managed to grab a point in their bid for survival. Duffy gave the Glovers an unlikely lead in the 20th minute, while a Lundstram own goal in the 69th minute ensured a share of the spoils. The Royals will be wondering why it was only a point as Yeovil were reduced to 8-men during the course of the second half. Reading 7th, Yeovil Town 23rd.

Brighton & Hove Albion maintained their play-off hopes with a 1-0 win over struggling Millwall at the Den. A Lopez penalty in the 39th minute proved to be enough to seal the points. Millwall 21st, Brighton & Hove Albion 8th.

Ipswich Town also remain on the fringe of the play-off chase as they managed to grab a single goal victory over Birmingham City at Portman Road. Murphy bagged the only goal of the game in the 38th minute. Ipswich Town 9th, Birmingham City 17th.

Bolton Wanderers gave themselves a bit of extra daylight at the foot of the table with a comfortable 4-0 win over neighbours Blackburn Rovers at the Reebok. Goals from Kamara (23rd min), Mason on the stroke of half time, Spearing (47th min) and Mortiz (92nd min) proved to be all too much for the Rovers, whose play-off ambitions look dubious. Bolton Wanderers 18th, Blackburn Rovers 10th.

Blackpool continued their free fall flight down the table with a 4-0 stuffing against Watford at Vicaage Road. A brace of braces from Ranegie (15th & 39th min) and Deeney (35th & 74th min) sealed victory for the Hornets, leaving the Tangerines with a winless run stretching 16-matches and the likelihood of being dragged in to a relegation scrap. Watford 11th, Blackpool 19th.

Huddersfield Town compounded the woes of Yorkshire neighbours, Barnsley at the John Smiths Stadium with a comprehensive 5-0 drubbing for the side rooted at the foot of the table. Goals from Southern (29th min), Ward (32nd min), Hammill (48th min), Clayton (58th min pen) and Scannell (86th min) proved to be all too much for the Tykes. Huddersfield Town 13th, Barnsley 24th.

Sheffield Wednesday managed to bag a single goal victory over Middlesbrough at Hillsborough as Nuhiu bagged a late penalty to seal victory to continue the Owls revival. Sheffield Wednesday 15th, Middlesbrough 14th.

Finally, AFC Bournemouth managed to run riot over Doncaster Rovers at Dean Court as the Cherries notched up their biggest win of the season with a comprehensive 5-0 victory. A hat-trick from Kermorgant (26th, 44th & 73rd min) was almost matches by Arter's brace with his goals in the 50th and 82nd minutes. AFC Bournemouth 16th, Doncaster Rovers 20th.
