Starting with the FA Cup, it's been a bad weekend for Charlton Athletic. On saturday they saw all their rivals at the foot of the table claim valuable wins, while the Addicks themselves were dumped out of the FA Cup at the hands of League One Sheffield United at Bramhall Lane. Two quick fire goals from Flynn (65th min) and Brayford (67th min), with the Baldes only shots on target, bagged the side from the third tier a place in the semi-finals to be played out at Wembley. Meanwhile Charlton Athletic resume League action rooted to the foot of the table, 4-points shy of safety, with 4 games in hand.

Once again Wigan Athletic managed to upset the form book by beating Manchester City in a repeat of last years final, this time at the Etihad Stadium. A Gomez penalty in the 27th minute set the Latics on their way before Perch doubled the advantage just after the break. Nasri pulled one back for City, who then bombarded the Latics goal, but failed to find a way through.

Back in the Championship a massive local derby was played out at Ewood Park as Blackburn Rovers took on near neighbours Burnley. Despite Rhodes giving the home side the lead in the 24th minute, the Clarets hit back through Shackell (73rd min) and Ings (79th min) to seal a massive three points, which lifts them 8-points clear of the chasing pack in the play-off places. Blackburn Rovers 10th, Burnley 2nd.
