Leicester City managed to overcome Blackburn Rovers at their King Power Stadium with a 2-1 win. Goals from Dyer (16th min) and a Nugent penalty on the stroke of half time pretty much put the game to bed. The only response Rovers could come up with was a 70th penalty through Rhodes. Leicester City 2nd, Blackburn Rovers 14th.
Blackpool slipped to a surprise defeat at the hands of Millwall at The Den, which was the home sides first win of the season despite going behind to an Ince strike in the 16th minute. Goals from Trotter on the stroke of half time, Bailey (73rd min) and Morison (74th min) sealed the unlikely win for the home side to life them away from the drop zone. Millwall 19th, Blackpool 3rd.
Burnley's impressive start to the season continued with a decent 3-0 win over Birmingham City, who continue to slide in the wrong driection. A brace from Ings (3rd and 54th mins) and a strike from Arfield (46th min) sealed victory. Burnley 4th, Birmingham City 21st.
Nottingham Forest were made to work for their draw against Middlesbrough at the City Ground as the visitors claimed a 2-goal cushion with strikes in the 17th and 55th minutes respectively throuh Kamara and Friend. Forest hit back through Derbyshire (69th min) and Herderson (79th min) to claim a draw. Nottingham Forest 5th, Middlesbrough 16th.
Watford sneaked back in to the play-off places with a 2-1 win over Doncaster Rovers at Vicarage Road. McGugan gave the Hornets the lead in the 13th minute, with brown levelling 3 minutes later. What proved to be the winner came from McGugan when he converted a penalty in the 87th minute. Watford 6th, Doncaster Rovers 18th.
It was the late late shown at The Madjeski as Reading left it until the 97th minute to score victory over Leeds United, with Le Fondre popping up with the winner a minute after the visitors had been reduced to 10-men. Reading 7th, Leeds United 11th.
AFC Bournemouth managed to overcome Barnsley at Dean Court as Pugh scored the only goal of the game in the 77th minute. AFC Bournemouth 8th, Barnsley 23rd.
Derby County had to settle for a point against bottom clun Bolton Wanderers at The Reebok. Baptiste opened the scoring with a 5th minute strike for the home side, which was cancelled out 2 minutes later through Russell, who turned the game around with an 18th minute strike to put County ahead. Eagles levelled for the home side just before the break. Bolton Wanderers 24th, Derby County 9th.
Huddersfield Town managed to sneak a win past Charlton Athletic at the John Smiths Stadium. Vaughan gave Town the lead on the stroke of half time, with Lynch doubling the advantage in the 65th minute. Stewart pulled one back in the 79th minute, but it wasn't enough. Huddersfield Town 10th, Charlton Athletic 17th.
Ipswich Town had to come from behind to claim victory over Yeovil Town at Portman Road after grant gave the Glovers the lead in the 43rd minute. Second half goals from Murphy (53rd min) and Cresswell (60th min) sealed the points for the Tractor Boys. Ipswich Town 12th, Yeovil Town 22nd.
