Manager Eddie Howe was naturally delighted with the win, being quoted on BBC Radio Solent after the match as saying: "There are a huge array of emotions that go through you during the game, but I’m really proud after seeing the players perform like that and give everything to the cause. The only disappointment was that we conceded a goal, but that’s the Championship for you. You just have to look at the quality of the goal to see what we will be up against. But it was pleasing that we recovered from the set back and ended up winning the game. You saw how much effort it took to win the game today and we are going to need that in every game because if you step off, then you get punished. It was a good lesson for us today in many aspects".
