Cheltenham Town Reaction - AFC Bournemouth

Speaking on BBC Radio Solent after the match, manager Kevin Bond is quoted as saying: "We're just gutted, absolutely devastated. It was the last kick of the game and we just didn't deserve it. I thought we were excellent throughout, excellent. We defended well, played well, passed it well when we had to or when we could. We passed it well on a tight pitch. If I had a criticism it is that we didn't take the chances that we had. We had a couple of really good opportunities that we never finished. It was always going to be a tight game, it was a tight game but I thought it was a good game. I was happy with everybody and everything for a side coming away from home, until the ball went in to the net. That's football for you, you don't always get what you deserve, we certainly haven't done today and we have got to pick ourselves up. Everybody is just really really gutted because we've worked hard to get in to the position that we are in where we have won a couple of games. We have worked hard to get into a situation where we come away from home, given more than a good account of ourselves and come away with a valuable point. Then to have it taken away from you is a hard one to take to be honest. They are a big side and get balls into the box and you have got to deal with them. But apart from that ball [the goal] we dealt with every single thing for the entire game. We didn't deal with that one and as a result of it we have come away with nothing when we deserved at least a point. Confidence isn't low, the lads are in fine form and you can see that in the way they play. They didn't look like a side today that was scrapping for relegation and I thought they went about their job, played with a freedom and I was absolutely delighted with them. Considering we had three of the four midfield players who played last week against Leyton Orient missing today. So the lads who have come in I thought did great. They did ever so well so I can't be disappointed with the performance, I'm only disappointed with the result".

Neil Moss was quoted after the match on BBC Radio Solent as saying: "It is an absolute sickner. The first half I thought was an even game, both teams were going at it, it was a decent first half. Second half I thought it was all us, we had loads of possession, had all the chances. But if we don't score it is going to make it very difficult for us. We can't keep winning games one-nil, particularly away from home. You know you are going to come under some pressure and they had some big boys playing for them. "It would have been a totally different game had we scored. They would have then come at us and it would have seen us attack them on the break. I think we would have gone on to win the game not by one but maybe a few more which we probably deserved after our second half. It just seems that fate dealt us a bad blow. The lad has come through the middle and hit a shot that was going nowhere. Neil Young got a great block in and it went behind for a corner. We then half cleared the corner and it just wouldn't fall for us to get it clear away from our box. To be fair to their right-winger, he put in a great ball and the big man got up at the far post and put his head on it. We had two or three equally as good chances in the second half and we didn't put any of them away - that has cost us".
