Manager Eddie Howe was quoted on BBC Radio Solent after the match as saying: "It was a disappointing first half. We were slow out the traps today. In the second half we were the better team but we lacked quality again in the final third and we didn't work their goalkeeper enough. We flattered to deceive a bit and we didn't flow for whatever reason".
