Cheltenham Town Reaction - Cherries II

Last updated : 27 December 2009 By Bournemouth Co-Ordinator

Liam Feeney was naturally delighted with the wonder strike he produced to secure a valuable win for the Cherries. He's quoted in the Bournemouth Evening Echo as saying: "I can’t think of one to rival it so it was definitely the best goal of my career so far. I was buzzing when it went in and buzzing that is got us the three points. It was a tough game especially after losing 5-0 in our last game. I think it showed in our performance that we were a little bit nervy at times. But we were resolute in our defending and, thankfully, got the three points. It had been a long time coming and they have been great with me this season. I just wanted to repay them and thank them. As an attacking player, it does start to play on your mind when you go a while without a goal. You are judged on assists and goals and it had been four months. I was glad to get it out of the way and, hopefully, a few more will follow now".
