With news that Southampton could be about to make some of their strike force available on loan, following this quote from manager George Burley: "We might loan one or two out Andrew Surman and Nathan Dyer last season were prime examples of what that can do. Both went out on loan for first team experience and came back stronger for it and we'll keep a close eye on that. With us not being in the Premier Reserve League, it's made it even more possible to loan one or two out to Football League teams".

Of AFC Bournemouth, Sean O'Driscoll, has been making enquiries for a striker, as has been quoted in the Bournemouth Evening Echo as saying: "We've made enquiries, but it depends on other clubs getting the players they want. If that happens, other players become surplus to requirements. I'd rather get someone in sooner rather than later, but I can't push things. I have to wait on someone else's decision. But we have made our intentions known to certain clubs about certain players".
