Cherries Appeal On Embargo - Again

Last updated : 26 January 2010 By Bournemouth Co-Ordinator

With the Cherries down to barely 13 fit players following the weekend trip to Aldershot Town, a fresh appeal has been made to the Football League to allow them to make an emgergency signing (or two).

Sammy Igoe looks as if he's going to be out for a few weeks, Shaun Cooper is still not fit, Mark Molesley is out following his ankle operation, Joe Partington is out due to a back problem, Warren Cummings is suspended for 3 matches and it has been revealed that a further first team player broke down after the match at The Recreation Ground.

This coming with a tricky double header of away matches against Crewe Alexandra and Rotherham United to come in the next week.

Speaking in the Bournemouth Evening Echo, manager Eddie Howe is quoted as saying: "Sammy will be out for a period of time which isn’t ideal because he gives us good balance. We’re not sure how serious Joe’s injury is yet but he wasn’t fit enough to make the bench at Aldershot and could also be out for a period of time. It is a tough ask for us at the moment but, hopefully, we can use our past experiences and it will inspire us in the same way as before".

Whether the Football League will listen is another matter ......
