Cherries Get Physical

Welch is quoted in the Bournemouth Evening Echo as saying: "The guys are all fit and strong and, physically, I can see no difference between them and the top players. The mental side needs working on and that's what we're doing. The players have to understand that their actions have a major bearing on the club and on everybody connected with the club. There is a knock-on effect. They are low at the moment and are moaning about the fans booing them. The only reason they are booing is because they are losing and the players are taking it to heart. But I've told them that they are the only people who can change that. The players are trying their hardest to be successful but certain people and certain things are getting in the way. The players need the fans on their side so once we can smooth things over a bit and change things then they will start being successful. We're doing another session later this week so, hopefully, by the time they take to the pitch on Saturday, you should see it coming out of them. But it's not going to happen overnight and is going to take a few weeks. Adam said he wanted to add the iron fist so this is what we're doing. They are not losers, they are winners and we just have to keep reiterating how important the thought process is".
