Cherries Must Build On Success

With back to back wins secured, and successive clean sheets to go with it, midfielder Harry Arter was quoted in the Bournemouth Evening Echo, prior to the win at Blackpool as saying: "Last weekend was really good but if we don’t apply ourselves against Blackpool, don’t play as well as we can and don’t get any points, we’ll see last week as a bit wasted. We need to start where we left off and try and kick on. Football is a week by week business and last weekend has gone. If we don’t perform against Blackpool then the manager is going to have a problem with that. We need to approach it the same as we did the Doncaster game. It’s such a good attribute of our manager that he would never let the lads rest on their laurels or take any game for granted. Performances have improved a lot and whether we play Derby away or Doncaster at home, albeit the results were different, the performances were very good. Going into the Blackpool game, attitude-wise, I can’t see anyone approaching it differently, so I would expect what you see from this team week in, week out – a high-energy performance where we try and give ourselves the best opportunity to win the game. The way we prepare for Blackpool will be the way we’d prepare for a cup final. From week to week, the intensity is there and that’s why we’re becoming a better team".
