Cherries Sign Edgar

With the likes of Mark Molesley, Shaun Cooper, Ryan Garry, Sammy Igoe, Joe Partington and Liam Feeney out injured, or struggling with knocks, manager Eddie Howe has moved to strenthen his squad within the parameters set by the Football League.

As a result, the Cherries have signed 19-year old Anthony Edgar from West Ham United. Edgar is quoted on the Clubs Official Web Site as saying: "It's a big challenge and one I'm looking forward to. There are a number of players down the years who have come here from West Ham and done extremely well, so that is good motivation for me. As soon as I was told about Bournemouth's interest, I wanted to come here and take the chance. The lads here are great and that has given me a lot of confidence to do well. The team is doing well at the top of the table and hopefully we can stay there and continue to get more points. I can't wait for the game at Port Vale, and hopefully I will get my chance and get some experience".

Hardly surprising, Edgar goes straight in to the squad to face Port Vale on Saturday and has been handed squad number 16.
