AFC Bournemouth have signed 24-year-old Lewis Grabban from Rotherham United, having won the race for his signature over Sean O'Driscoll at Crawley Town.

Assistant boss, Shaun Brooks is quoted in the Bournemouth Evening Echo as saying: "We have followed Lewis’s career over the past two or three years but it really took off last year when he went to Rotherham and scored a lot of goals.Similarly to Josh, he can play out wide or up front, he is strong, quick and has good feet. He is willing and eager to improve as well. He believes in what we are trying to do as a football club, so he has got all the right attributes that we are looking for in a player that can move this club forward. Everything has been agreed now – he needs to have a medical and we will have him as part of our squad for pre-season. We recognised that we didn’t score enough goals last season. The teams in the top six score upwards of 75 goals a season and we scored around one a game. It is an area we need to improve in. Defensively, we are sound, but we needed to get more goals in the team. The two signings – Josh and Lewis – will help us play how we want to play in terms of energy and intensity".
