Cherries To Plant Cherries

AFC Bournemouth have announced that they are planning to plant some Cherry trees around Dean Court, replacing existing trees that are outside the ground.

Speaking on the Clubs Official Web Site, Chairman Eddie Mitchell is quoted as saying: "The trees that are currently outside the stadium are dying and need to be replaced. Branches have fallen off the trees over the last few months, and we had to do something before somebody got hurt. "A lot of supporters congregate in that area on a match day, and it's our responsibility to ensure it is a safe place for them to come and cheer on their team. Considering how the long the trees have been there it was a difficult decision, but the safety of our supporters has to come first. As with the improvements we've made inside the stadium and the car park, we will use it as an opportunity to improve the appearance of the stadium and the surrounding area. We are proud of the club's history, including our nickname, and it seemed fitting that we should plant cherry trees".
