Chester City Reaction - Chester City

Speaking in the Bournemouth Evening Echo, City manager, Mark Wright, is quoted as saying: "We more than handled everything they threw at us and I didn't feel worried. But if you lose to a goal that would grace the Premier League, you've got to hold up your hands. Darren Anderton came on and was the difference; otherwise we could have taken a point. It was unfortunate for us because I thought we deserved a draw. But the script was written for him and, if you give someone like Darren a bit of space, he is going to hurt you".

Wright went on to say: "It's unfortunate to see his career end. He's got his reasons for it and good luck to him. I think Darren's a really nice fellow, I just don't like him today! I looked at our boys and I thought they played as strongly as they did at Darlington. They're really disappointed but if you get beaten by a wonder goal like that - one that would grace the Premier League - you've got to hold your hands up. He (Anderton) came on and was the difference. I don't like getting beaten in any way, shape of or form, but if you get beaten by a goal like that you've got to hold your hands up. If you saw that scored by Cristiano Ronaldo, they'd be screaming about it for the next three weeks".
