City Reaction - Bantams

Speaking on their Official Web Site, the City manager, Stuart McCall, is quoted as saying: "Teams will come here and play different systems and we have to come to terms with that. Bournemouth did it very effectively and made it a difficult day for us. People will be on the phone to Jimmy Quinn today to congratulate him on the result and ask how he did it. I'm sure we will find others playing that way in the games to come. Jimmy is a wily old manager and he came up with a way that blotted us out. It's great if you've got the personnel to carry that out. The three lads at the back were strong, the wing-backs got tight on our wingers and they had Sammy Igoe pulling the strings behind their striker. We could have brought on another midfielder to sit on Igoe and take a striker off but you're not going to do that at home. I warned that this would be a difficult game because they've got some good players. We struggled to break them down and couldn't get any space in behind them or down the sides. I don't know if we needed a kick up the backside but this result will bring a bit of reality in. It's got our feet back on the ground".
