In a superb innovation to encourage attacking football, new League sponsors Coca Cola have launched a £1 million challenge to the 72 Clubs in the Football League.

If, during the 2004/05 season, they combined strike force of the League can score 4500, or more goals during the coming campaign, each club will take a share of the pot. The money is aimed at funding a young player at each club for a year.

If the target is achieved, it will break the current record number of goals scored in a season, which stands at 4354.
