Even though we were soundly beaten on Saturday by a very competent Colchester side, manager Sean O'Driscoll said of the match "I thought we were find on the ball at both ends, but our defending was the first half was all over the place. I have told my players they should not be disappointed but they should be angry. I thought our second half performance was fine and that's what we need to take in to our next match".

From a Colchester perspective, Colchester manager, Phil Parkinson hailed their performance, and singled out the first goal scorer, Craig Fagan for praise: "Craig is always capable of the spectacular, but all his goals this season have been strikers goals from close range, so it was nice to see him doing things out of the ordinary. Craig is a top quality striker when he is on form and he proved to be a real handful for Bournemouth".
