Consistency Is Called For

With two decent away wins behind them, the Cherries now face back to back home matches with games against Brentford and Nottingham Forest in the week ahead.

With Brentford the first of those matches, manager Eddie Howe is quoted in the Bournemouth Evening Echo as saying: "From our perspective, it was only one game and we need to back it up with consistent results. It is no good performing well one week and not the next. Consistency is going to be crucial and we want to produce a similar performance against Brentford. We improved as the season went on at home. We had some tough games early on where we were adjusting to the division. Some teams came here and made it difficult for us. But I felt we solved a few different problems and became free-scoring at the end so we certainly ended with real momentum. It would be lovely to pick up where we left off but, to do that, we are going to need to do the basics right. I have been drilling into the players this week that certain aspects of our play need to be very good. When you play any promoted team early in the season, they are difficult games. The players still have the promotion fresh in their minds, they go into games with no fear and they want to make a good impression. We will give Brentford the utmost respect and know they are going to examine us. We need to be up to that test".
