After the initial trial in February failed to deliver a verdict at the High Court in London, a re-trial found the 4 footballers accused of a sexual assault on a teenage girl in Brighton innocent of all charges.

Of the four, included current Cherries central defender Steve Cook who had denied any involvement in the alledged assault, which was said to have taken place in the Jury's Hotel, Brighton, in July 2011.

A brief statement acknowledges that AFC Bournemouth: "is aware of today's verdict in the trial of defender Steve Cook and looks forward to Steve returning for pre-season training in June. After a difficult year for Steve, we hope he can now put everything behind him and concentrate on playing football for AFC Bournemouth. No further comment will be made on the matter".
