Cook On Cherries

In a move not expected so soon after his loan recall by the Seagulls, Steve Cook signed a permanent 3.5 year deal to play for AFC Bournemouth shortly after his staring role against South Coast Club last weekend.

The move is said to be worth £170k now, rising to £300k with various add-ons.

Speaking about his move westwards, Cook is quoted in the Bournemouth Evening Echo as saying: "They want to be in the Championship and everything is going in the right direction. Hopefully, we can fulfil the expectations. I had never played in the Championship before Monday and it was good to see if I could keep up with the pace and things like that. I thought I did all right. Hopefully now, we can get in there and play there every week. I don’t think I would have signed if I didn’t think we could get there (the Championship) in the next year or so. Hopefully, it will be this year but if not, definitely next year".
