He may have been recalled by the Seagulls to face South Coast Club on January 2nd, but within 24 hours of featuring in that match, Steve Cook has signed a permanent deal at Dean Court.

It is being reported that Cook has signed a similar deal to that which saw Scott Malone move from Wolves, in so much as the deal is said to be worth £150,000, signing a 3.5 year contract.

Speaking on the Clubs Official Web Site, Cook is quoted as saying: "We are in great form at the moment and we've only lost once in the last ten games, everyone is so positive and we have everything we need to reach the Championship. The squad is good enough and the results prove that, even at Yeovil we had a few players out and still came away with a win. A lot of League One clubs could have given me first team football but I love it here. There's a great atmosphere and the club has so much potential I would be stupid not to sign. I had already made my decision that I was going to sign before the game on Monday whatever happened. I played well and we won so I was pleased to end on a high, but I was more pleased to have things sorted with Bournemouth. The lads at Brighton were pleased that I had gone out on loan and done well for myself. I've got some good friends and been there for a long time so it was a difficult decision to leave, but you've got to think about yourself and your future".
