Cooke, who played for Bournemouth as a loan signing has had 2 spells on loan at Dean Court. The first in 2002, when he made 6 (+1) League appearances, and the second in 2004 when he made a further 4 appearances in red and black.
More recently he spent a month at Wycombe Wanderers.
Sean O'Driscoll is quoted on the Clubs Official Web Site as saying: "A number of other clubs have also expressed an interest so hopefully we can put something together in the near future. He's kept in touch with a couple of the players throughout the season, knows the area and knows the way we like to play the game. He'd be a successful addition to our squad".
