When Cook went down at the of the match on Saturday, the worse was feared for the 22-year-old, but thankfully scans have shown the injury wasn't as bad as first feared.

Speaking on the Clubs Official Web Site, physio Steve Hard is quoted as saying: "Initially when I first assessed Cookie on the pitch, he was in a lot of pain and I queried whether he had actually broken his leg. It was best to immobilise his leg and remove him from the field of play for further assessment. Following further examination in the treatment room after the game, we were confident he hadn’t broken his tibia but he did have a lot of bruising and an injury to his left ankle ligaments".

All of which means that Cook is likely to miss the south coast derby against his former Club, Brighton & Hove Albion, this weekend.
