County Game Rearranged

The postponed match against Notts County has been pencilled in for Tuesday 9th, February, 1945ko. But it could be moved to Monday 15th February to cater for Sky Sports cameras.

The only fly in the ointment at the moment is that Notts County are not keen on playing another match 48 hours after they have played Rochdale at Meadow Lane, which could mean that both clubs will miss out on lucrative TV payments, which seems crazy given that both Clubs are strapped for cash, with County facing a Winding Up Order.

From AFC Bournemouth, Cherries Chairman, Eddie Mitchell is quoted in the Bournemouth Evening Echo as saying: "We would love to host the match on Monday, February 15 and we would love to host it in front of Sky. It would provide a great opportunity for the players of both clubs to showcase their talents and to show how they can play in front of the viewing public. Both clubs have got tough fixtures on the Saturday and we are both in the same boat, although I appreciate Notts County would have to travel and may see that as a slight disadvantage. I know managers might think differently, but in these days of luxury coaches, a trip to the seaside on a Monday doesn’t seem too bad to me".
