Crewe Alexandra Reaction (1)

Speaking for the last time as AFCB manager to BBC Radio Solent, Sean O'Driscoll is quoted as saying: "We were delighted. We prepared for this game at the beginning of the week and the players took ownership as well. We had input from the players and they gave a little presentation on Thursday on what we though the strengths were of the Crewe and how we could cope with it. And then trying to balance that off with causing them problems. Everything that we've tried to install I the players came out today. We had a little bit of a luck but you need that. I said to them at halftime that this was like an international game, you've really got to think like this. They've been in the championship for a long time and have a really clever manager and they are bright players. So whatever the result, I would have been delighted with the performance and the application. It's been a good end to a difficult day. I just wanted the final whistle because we get three points then ......... then I look on teletext and Doncaster have lost at home so mixed emotions. Like anybody in a job, you put the work in and want to be fulfilled. We have worked extremely hard this week. The players have responded. Last Friday was difficult, today's been difficult but they've maintained their focus and carried on where they left off last week. We scored a great goal and persevered and I thought they showed that today".
