Cummings Defends Mitchell

Following the controversy after last weeks Sports Forum at Dean Court, Warren Cummings has come out in defence of the way the Club is being run, being quoted in the Bournemouth Evening Echo as saying: "It has been a turbulent few weeks. A lot has been said and, as players, we hear most of it. We understand the frustrations of the fans because things aren’t going well regarding results. It is a difficult time for everyone associated with the club. But the only people who are going to get us over this period are the squad, the management and the supporters. It is not going to be an easy season but it will be even harder if everybody fragments. The only way we are going to gain as much success as we possibly can is by everyone pushing in one direction. As a team, our job is to try to get results and, at this moment in time, we aren’t. But the supporters have always been behind us and I know they will continue to back us. It is a long season and we have got a lot of games to turn things round. The manager has said he is going to try to improve the squad when the loan window opens. I know how hard everyone tried to bring in players before the deadline and I understand the financial restrictions at this club. If we can’t afford to sign a player, we can’t afford to sign him. We don’t want to go back to the days when we went into administration and put the club’s future in doubt. The club is in far better shape now than it was two-and-a-half years ago".
