Cummings Signs

He might have been out since March 2005 following a leg break during a 3-0 away win at Swindon Town, but Warren Cummings is confident of a return in the near future.

In an interview in the Bournemouth Evening Echo, he is quoted as saying: "But I don't think any player in my situation would not have had the same thoughts at some point. You can only go on what you are being told by the experts. And I have seen enough specialists now to know that the leg has healed properly and it is just a matter of time. I no longer have any reservations about it because I know in myself that I'll be fine. I am confident I will be ready to do the whole of pre-season and if that's the case, I'll be back for the start of the new season. That is my aim".

On his new contract, Warren went on to say: "Basically, it is all agreed - it is just a matter of putting pen to paper now. It wasn't difficult to come to an agreement as soon as I dealt with the manager. We decided it was sensible for both parties for a year's contract. It suits me fine and it suits the club as well. Sean's been excellent to deal with, we had a frank discussion and he's handled it professionally throughout".
