Cummings Stays

Warren Cummings has committed his future to AFC Bournemouth in signing a new two year deal, with an option for a third.

Speaking to the Bournemouth Evening Echo, Club Chairman Jeff Mostyn is quoted as saying: "To have secured his services in circumstances where we know some top clubs have been after his signature is a real vote of confidence for this football club. I flew to meet his father in Edinburgh a fortnight ago and we had a very good meeting. I knew where he was coming from and I knew other clubs had offered him considerable money. But I also believe there was a loyalty factor in his desire to stay with this football club and it was up to us to go that extra mile financially to try to reach a compromise. We didn't come to any conclusion in Edinburgh and the negotiations continued while I was on holiday in Spain last week before we concluded the deal this morning. This is a big signing for the club because it demonstrates to everybody our commitment. Steve Sly and myself are totally committed to supporting Kevin and the team going forward".
