Defence Is Key - Newman

Speaking to the Bournemouth Evening Echo, Newman is quoted as saying: "We were all at sea in the first 10 minutes of the Dorchester game. Crosses came in and we didn't deal with them. We conceded goals from crosses against Portsmouth and Bristol City and it's something we know we need to put right because teams in League Two rely a lot on set-pieces so we've got to be strong. think it's about seeing things before they happen. We don't react to things until they actually happen and then it's a 50-50 battle. We've just got to keep trying on the training pitch, but a lot of it has got to come from individuals on the pitch. The more they play together and work together as a unit on the training pitch, the more solidity we will get in our defending. It's so important you get yourself right and in the right position before the ball comes into your area. If you are in that right position, you should be able to deal with it comfortably".
