Democracy in action at Dean Court!

Last updated : 25 October 2005 By AFCB Community Mutual
At this meeting, members of the Community Mutual, the Cherries fans' trust
will be balloted on the club’s refinancing proposal. The club wish to carry out a sale and leaseback on the stadium and use the cash generated from the sale to pay back some of their debts.

The fans' trust, which has a membership of over 2,500, has the ultimate say over whether the deal will go ahead. The Mutual, set up in 2000 with Government backing, holds two golden shares worth 51% of the voting rights in the company.

Supporters are urged to attend a special meeting this coming Friday to discuss the proposals. Fans will hear the views of the fans’ trust on the refinancing proposals and there will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions. Ballot papers will also be issued at this meeting.

The meeting is being described by the Mutual’s chairman John Lewis as "the most important event to date in our club’s history. We appeal to every member to make a big effort to come along, listen to the debate and make your mind up about whether you support the club’s refinancing proposals".
