Difficult Task For Bond

Speaking in the Bournemouth Evening Echo, manager Kevin Bond admits that with the Club still in administration, he is not finding it easy to prepare for next season.

He is quoted as saying: "It is difficult because nobody can tell us what we've got available in terms of budgets. We don't know what our squad is going to cost because nothing has been agreed with a number of players. We've made offers to the players and are trying to encourage them to commit themselves to the club. We are also trying to identify potential people who could fill the one or two gaps outside of that. It's not as straight forward as it usually is and, because the takeover hasn't gone through yet, the people above are not really able to give anybody a definitive answer as to what we're allowed to do. I'm speaking to people to see how interested they would be in signing because, whoever I bring in, needs to be committed to what is undoubtedly going to be a difficult season. There is every chance we are going to start the season behind the eight ball so when it comes to coaxing or encouraging players to come here, we're not on a level playing field".

The continuing uncertainty isn't helping persuade existing out of contract players to sign new contracts. Those out of contract include: Darren Anderton, Marvin Bartley, Lee Bradbury, Shaun Cooper, Ryan Garry, Josh Gowling, Danny Hollands and Brett Pitman.
