Doncaster Rovers Reaction - AFC Bournemouth
Last updated : 04 March 2007 By Bournemouth Co-Ordinator
Manager Kevin Bond was quoted on the
Clubs Official Web Site as saying: "
It was a great win. I took a bit of a gamble to go attacking minded with three centre forwards on the pitch. I wanted to see if we could get off to a fast start and get something on the board. We seem to have done better from that type of situation rather than be conservative at home and build from a sound foundation. They had a fair amount of possession in the first half because of the shape we played. But I never felt they hurt us with it. Brett Pitman is a good finisher, he took his goal well and I was pleased we went in ahead. Both Brett and David [McGoldrick] can create something from nothing. I thought Doncaster might start the second half quickly and it was great for us we got a second goal when we did. It gave us a platform to dig in and we dealt with everything they threw at us. We're not going to stay up this week, next week or the week after. We're obviously pleased with how the day has gone, but lose a few games and we're back to square one so we can't afford to do that. It's been a decent spell for us and we need to build on it further".
