Doncaster Rovers Reaction - Cherries

One week manager Eddie Howe was spitting feathers over a single goal defeat in the East Midlands, this week Howe was more than a little pleased with the Cherries dominant performance against a hapless Doncaster Rovers.

Howe was quoted on BBC Radio Solent as saying after the match: "We’ve had a really tough run of fixtures recently. I think we have performed well and should have got more points. That puts even more pressure on the games where you feel like you really need to win and get points. The pleasing thing is the manner of the performance and the dominance we showed right from the start. We really put them to the sword and I think the only disappointment form my perspective is that we didn’t score more because I felt we deserved to. We did start the game really well and we were on the front foot. We had a number of openings and I think the keeper made a great save from Andrew Surman. We had a number of other chances but we didn’t take them".

On hat-trick hero Kermorgant: "We always had him in mind to start this game. We feel that when new players come to the club we have to educate them in how we play and what we want them to do. I think it's sometimes difficult. You sign a player and you are expected to play them straight off, but I think he needed to learn about us and the decisions we took. Obviously we played away in a couple of games and we wanted to go a different system so we had this game in mind. He was excellent in his all-round attitude to the game in terms of his work rate off the ball as well, which won’t be talked about, but we are really pleased with that. We feel he’s not a one dimensional target man. He’s very good with his feet, he showed that with the first goal with the finish with his right foot. You watch him in training and he’s technically very good. That’s why we didn’t want to just sign a physical presence who couldn’t play and couldn’t fit in with the style of football we wanted to play. You saw today, he enhanced our performance".
