Donny Bid For Hayter - Deal Or No Deal?

Doncaster Rovers have tabled an offer for leading goal scorer Jamie Hayter, a deal said to be worth something in the region of £150,000.

Quotes from the Bournemouth Evening Echo, from Kevin Bond are saying that: "Doncaster Rovers have tabled a bid for James Hayter. I'm not prepared to disclose details of the bid, that is club business. There are a number of factors to be taken into consideration. Firstly, what James wants to do. I would never want to keep a player against his wishes and, in saying that, I'm not suggesting for one minute that he doesn't want to stay here. James has expressed a desire to see what the possibilities are. Every player has a price. James is out of contract at the end of the coming season and would be at liberty to walk away without the club receiving any compensation".

Chairman Jeff Mostyn is also quoted as saying: "I can confirm we have received an offer for James Hayter and the player is now considering his options. In planning for the future, no consideration has ever been given - at any stage - for the sale of any players. It has never been our strategy. This doesn't prevent football clubs showing an interest, or indeed, making an offer for any member of the playing staff".
