Eddie Believed

Following his departure to Ashton Gate, Brett Pitman speaks of his appreciation towards Eddie Howe and the influence he's had on his career.

Speaking in the Bournemouth Evening Echo, Pitman is quoted as saying: "I can’t speak highly enough of him and he has had a huge impact on my career. I always said I would score goals if I got a run in the team and was fortunate he believed in me and gave me that opportunity. He improved my game and other things. Both Eddie and Jason have been fantastic with me. The lads have been brilliant and you don’t score goals on your own".

Of his experience under previous managers, Pitman is also quoted as saying: "Maybe under the previous regime, I didn’t feel wanted and I think a lot of the lads would say the same. It was no surprise when Eddie came in that, all of a sudden, the same set of players started winning games. I think that speaks for itself. They have got to keep him because you never know who would come in. They would have a helluva job to prepare the team as well, to be as organised as Eddie and to have the same relationship with the players. He is doing an unbelievable job and it’s not just people in Bournemouth that notice it, it’s people all over the country. Keeping hold of him will be key. I loved my time at Bournemouth and nothing would give me greater pleasure than to see them get promoted again this season".
