Eddie On Extension

On signing the 12-month extension to his current deal, manager Eddie Howe is quoted in the Bournemouth Evening Echo as saying: "The chairman approached us before the end of the season to ask whether we would be interested in signing another year and neither of us hesitated. We appreciated the club coming to us and we wanted to get it sorted because stability and length of contract are important when you are trying to build something in the long term. It also helps when you are trying to recruit players because they know you are committed to the club so I think it was a positive move on the part of everybody. In the short term, we have got to try to be competitive in a really tough league and we are confident we can be. It is going to be a tough season but one we can look forward to with no fear. If we can match the levels we achieved last season, then it should be another exciting year for us".
