Everton Reaction

Here is what Kevin Bond had to say after the match, speaking on the Clubs Official Web Site: "It was a good positive game. Our thanks go to Everton for coming down for the match and bringing a first team. There were lots of plusses on the field so on and off the field it was a pleasing day. It gave the people of Bournemouth a chance to see a Premier League side and they turned up in their numbers. It gave some much needed revenue into the football club and it gave me the opportunity to introduce a couple of players we hadn't seen in a while. Seeing Warren Cummings back to his enthusiastic best was a great plus. I thought we defended well for the most part. Jack Cork was a different class and I'm delighted to have him back. It allowed us to put James Hayter up front again, which he's pleased about and I'm pleased about. Chelsea have a couple of tournaments abroad they've committed to and they're keen to take their youngsters away. But we're thankful for the time we've got Jack and Ryan here. Ryan Bertrand tweaked a muscle in the warm-up so we didn't want to risk him. Shaun Cooper felt his hamstring half an hour into the game and was taken off as a precaution more than anything else. Curtis Allen was set to go out on loan, but I decided to keep him here for the meantime. We've got a few injuries and today was a chance to show what he could do. He did himself no harm at all".

For Everton, David Moyes was quoted as saying after the match: "I thought it was a good run out for one or two players. Tony Hibbert has hardly trained, Sandro Pistone and Anderson de Silva came in and James Vaughan got a bit of a game as well so that was good. We didn't play well enough to win but the boys got a run around. Had we not come down we would have had to have a training game. There were a lot of people from Bournemouth who were at the game and it was a good opportunity for a lot of fans who maybe don't get the chance to see the boys too often. It was just a training session really. Victor and Tim Cahill came off with bit of injuries so we will have to see how they are".
