FA Cup - A Crewe perspective

I should point out that the views expressed in this articles are those of the crewealex.com web site, and not those of the AFC Bournemouth Exiles Club.

Are Crewe living up to their fans expectations?

Well. Some were expecting up to romp away with Division Two, some were settling for the play-offs and some were even settling for mid-table. I expected a snatch at 2nd place and at the moment it's a possibility.

Are you interested in a cup run or do you think it will scupper your league campaign?
Dario Gradi and some fans are saying it will mess with our league form. I don't think that and I think if we're good enough to go up we should be good enough to handle a cup and if we win on Tuseday we have a nice derby clash at Stoke. Who knows after that. Also, I really enjoyed our two games in the 5th round Vs Everton last season.

Did anyone impress you, out of the Bournemouth team, at Dean Court?
Can't say I went. But from the radio I really wanted someone to cripple Wade Elliot as he was mentioned in every sentence. :-)

Can we expect a mini cup shock?
I'm wary of this. Our strike force is down to zero and lack of height and experience worries me. I think our only really threat will come from set peices and would not be surprised if Bournemouth ran out easy winners, but not surprised if we did the same.

What's Crewe's weak point?
Well strike force. With Jack, Hulse and Ashton who have grabbed 40 goals between them this season all out we replace them with a strike force or are a left winger and a attacking midfielder who have just 4 league goals between them. If we have our strikers I don't think we have any weak points... just Neil Sorvel who insists on passing backwards.

Strong point?
Centre midfield. Dave Brammer is dynamite when he's not knackered. He will dominate the centre and Lunt will provide killer balls.

Best player?
Some would say Rob Hulse but I would say Dean Ashton. Natural talent who has a bright Premiership future and maybe international future if he works at it. If it was one facing you on tuseday, Dave "The King" Brammer.

How many do you expect to turn up atGresty Road?
Can't see our fickle support turning out, just the die-hard few and a few Stokies seeing who'll they'll play. 4,000?

Prediction for Tuesday?
1-0 or 2-0 to us... hopefully.
