FA Cup Reaction - Cherries

Manager Eddie Howe was full of positives after Liverpool edged AFC Bournemouth out of the FA Cup, being quoted on the Clubs Official Web Site as saying: "When we looked at our preparations for the game, what we wanted was a result first and foremost but also a performance where everyone went away thinking what a good football team Bournemouth are. And not only just a good football team but how we work for each other and that our mentality was very good. That was the challenge we set the players and hopefully we did that. Obviously we didn’t get the result to match that but I don’t think it was far away. We didn’t freeze on the occasion – it would have been easy to do it, as the players wouldn’t have been in the situation very often with the amount of exposure they were going to get today. It would have been easy to go down the route of smashing long balls and not wanting the ball, but they were brave and I thought we were very good technically in tight situations against very athletic players. I thought we used the ball well today".
