FA Cup Second Round Draw

Last updated : 12 November 2006 By Bournemouth Co-Ordinator
For AFC Bournemouth, we drew one of our oldest adversaries in the form of Bristol Rovers for our FA Cup Second round tie. A match to be played on December 2nd, or 3rd at The Memorial Stadium.

This is a match that is likely to be moved away from the Saturday given that Bristol City were also drawn at home (v Gillingham).

Other ties with local interest .........

Salisbury City hit jackpot with a home tie against Nottingham Forest.

Weymouth will be at home home again if they can get past a replay away at Bury. Waiting for them will be Chester City.

Assuming Havant can survive beyond the FA Cup this year, they'll be on the road to Bradford City in the second round. They still need to negotiate a their first round match against Millwall at Fratton Park first.

A North Hampshire local derby has been set up if Aldershot can overcome Chelmsford City in their first round replay. Waiting for them is Basingstoke Town who await their final destination. This is the only all non-League tie, which guarantees non-League presence in the Third Round! Imagine ...... Basingstoke Town being drawn at home against the likes of Chelsea or Manchester United!
