FIXTURES OUT

Last updated : 20 June 2003 By Andy Burton
As we needed confirmation, it was great to see the name AFC Bournemouth among the likes of Brentford, Bristol City and Brighton, and not Boston, Torquay or Darlington - not that there's anything wrong with those clubs!!

It all kicks off again on August 9th, when AFC Bournemouth head for the Potteries, and an afternoon in the Port Vale sun. Could have been better .... could have been a lot worse too!!

The first home match (a week later) sees Bournemouth entertain troubled Barnsley. The Yorkshire club ar currently in desperate trouble, and are subject to a bid by ex-Leeds Chairman Ridsdale. Fingers crossed they succeed.

On the road again to one of the toughest venues we'll have to visit this season will see the Cherries visit QPR who will be keen to impress after their failure in the Play-Offs last season.

September is a big month for home matches as Bristol City (6/9), Sheffeild Wednesday (making their Dean Court debut - 16/9) and Rushden & Diamonds (20/9) all head South.

What of our other 'derbies'?
Brighton visit on 18/10 (return on 21/2), Brentford visit on 29/11 (return on the final day - 8/5), Swindon Town visit on 25/8 (return on 3/1), Plymouth Argyle visit Dean Court on Boxing Day, with Bournemouth heading for the West Country on Feb 7th.

One other key game, the away match at Hillsborough takes place on March 17th - pity it's a Wednesday at Wednesday!!
