Fletch On His Return

Last updated : 23 January 2009 By Bournemouth Co-Ordinator
Speaking in the Bournemouth Evening Echo on his return to Dean Court, Steve Fletcher is quoted as saying: "To say I'm overjoyed is a massive understatement. I just hope I can come in and perform to the best of my ability and help Bournemouth get out of this horrible position. I love the fans. They've been fantastic to me. I've spent almost half my life here and it's my home and always will be. My affection for the place will never go away. I just hope I can repay that in some way. I know it's an old quotation but every game is a cup final. We've got to claw back 10 points. People outside looking in think it's impossible but greater things and weirder things have been done in the past. We don't want the gap to grow and I'm sure it won't. We've got to start now. We've just got to try to fight for every point, every goal and every clean sheet. It will come down to that. Everybody knows what the club means to me. I gave everything for every club I played for but you don't lose your love for a club you were at for 15 years".

On capturing Steve Fletcher, Eddie Howe is quoted as saying: "He's going to be a real threat in the box aerially. And he's going to be a leader in the dressing room, added to the ones we've already got, which will be a real help".
