Fletcher Released

In news announced a little earlier, Steve Fletcher will not be offered a new contract at Dean Court for the 2007/08 season!

Fletcher was the first signing made by Tony Pulis back in July 1992, moving from Hartlepool United to the south coast in a deal worth £30,000. In his 15 years at Dean Court the talisman ,ade a club record 448 League appearances, with a 47 from the bench, scoring 88 goals in the process. Additionally he made 81 cup appearances (plus 5 from the bench), scoring a further 17 goals.

Fletcher will be best remembered for the opening goal in the Third Division Play-Off Final against Lincoln City at the Millennium Stadium, and for his one and only hat trick against Brentford on January 1st, 2005.

It is believed that Karl Broadhurst, Callum Hart, James Coutts and Conal Platt have also been released.

Neil Young, Shaun Maher, Stephen Cooke, Jack Haverson, and Curtis Allen are expected to be speaking to Kevin Bond on Tuesday. Discussions with Warren Cummings are said to be on going.

Neil Moss is said to have signed for a further year, while Stephen Purches is considering his options as it is believed that he has a clause in his current contract which allows him to stay for a further year.
