Foley Delay

With the need to fill the boots vacated with the departure of Garreth O'Connor, and the injury to Warren Cummings, manager Sean O'Driscoll is considering the options where Steven Foley is concerned.

He started in the left back position against Charlton on Saturday, but admits that he prefers to play in the left midfield.

Speaking to the Bournemouth Evening Echo, O'Driscoll is quoted as saying: "We don't want to lead him up the garden path. I don't see him as a left-back, I see him as more of a wide left player, which changes things a bit. He looks more comfortable in the more advanced role. Aston Villa have used him at left-back in the reserves because they didn't have anybody to play there. But speaking to him, he'd prefer to play wide left as well. There are a couple of other people we'd like to have a look at and we need to speak to the clubs involved, but they are still deciding whether the players concerned will be part of their squads for the new season. It is a bit difficult at this moment in time".
