With his original loan period ending after the Southend United match on New Year's Eve, the club have revealed that has now been extended until the end of January 2006.

Manager Sean O'Driscoll also has is eyes on a longer term deal. Speaking to the Bournemouth Evening Echo, he is quoted as saying: "We're talking to Steven, the agent and Aston Villa. We may be able to take him for a further month, he could return to Villa or we might sign him permanently or until the end of the season. All those scenarios are up in the air at the moment. We would like to know within the month if he's going to stay until end of the season or if we'll sign him on a contract. Whether that's possible, I'm not sure, but we'd definitely like to keep him until the end of the season".
