For AFC Bournemouth, Sean O'Driscoll was pleased with the comeback. He was quoted after the match as saying: "Usually when we get a full house we get an exciting game, and this was no different. For 10 minutes before half-time, we lost belief, but in the second half, we passed it well and created chances. You have to credit (Forest keeper) Paul Gerrard for an outstanding save from Stephen Cooke, and they had to clear off the line a couple of times".

Forest boss, Gary Megson, was quoted after the match as saying: "Everywhere we go it's like a cup atmosphere and in the programme it always says this is the opposition's biggest game of the season. We need to learn to cope with that because we are not coping at the moment".
