AFC Bournemouth manager, Sean O'Driscoll, was quoted on BBCi after the match, as saying: "For an hour at Walsall on Tuesday we were excellent, but in the last half-hour we didn't look as though we were interested. A few harsh words were said after that - but they were first-class today. The defence worked hard and played with a lot of intelligence, but everybody has played their part and I was delighted with the performance".

The Franchise manager, Danny Wilson was quoted after the match as saying: "We learned some lessons out there. The difference between us was that they took their chances and we did not. I'm not blaming our strikers because some of our best chances fell to players in other positions and they did not take them. I have to say I was disappointed in our performance in front of goal, but you get matches like these when the ball does not run kindly in that respect".
