Overall manager Sean O'Driscoll was pleased with the result from the opening fixture against the Franchise holders being quoted on BBCi as saying: "I'm pleased as our general display was excellent - we controlled the game, created a lot of chances and our fitness was really good ..... I was disappointed with their first goal, although I don't think (Dons goalscorer) Izale McLeod would look out of place in a higher division".

At the same time Danny Wilson, manager of the Franchisee's, was disappointed to see his side loose a 2-goal lead, being quoted as saying: "You're never happy with losing a two-goal lead, but you've got to give credit to Bournemouth as they're a good footballing side. We possibly went in front against the run of play, although we looked quite dangerous on the counter-attack".
